Victor Osimhen, a striker valued at £95 million, is expected to make a shocking switch to Manchester United this summer.
Man United reportedly contacted Napoli to discuss a potential transfer for Osimhen, according to Corriere dello Sport.
After a devasting 2021–2022 season, the Premier League giants are expected to undergo a significant rebuild this summer under new manager Erik ten Hag.
The Red Devils only managed to score 57 goals in 38 Premier League games last season, and Cristiano Ronaldo was their top scorer with 18 goals in 30 games.
However, Ronaldo’s teammates failed to back him up, as Edinson Cavani, Jadon Sancho, and Marcus Rashford combined for just nine league goals.
Osimhen, meanwhile, moved from Lille to Napoli in the summer of 2020 for a €70 million club record transfer fee.
The Nigerian international helped Luciano Spaletti’s team finish third in the Serie A standings last season with 18 goals in 32 games for Napoli.
